The Asian Market in Orlando

You could easily drive by West Colonial Drive and never even notice the Asian Market tucked back in a shopping center near Kirkman Road. However, if you do, you will miss one of the most varied food experiences ever.
For lunch, they have pulled pork that is cut with a cleaver so sharp, it barely makes a noise as it hits the cutting board. You can get pork and rice stuffed into a take away container for under 6 bucks!
The vegetable prices are excellent along with a huge variety of fresh seafood and meats. Don't let the sights of whole fish with heads stop you. They will cut it for you any way you like it.
If you are looking for Rice, you will find hundreds of varieties along with many interesting delicacies.
If nothing else, stop in to experience it. You won't…
Toys for Tots

It's coming into the Holiday Season and other than the dip in temperature, we know that it is getting close when the Toys for Tots campaign kicks off. As with many charities, we often sit back and marvel at the things we see on the news and we think to ourselves, I am sure that many people will give this year.
Most charities have been hit hard as the economy and jobs have been affected this year. One toy does make a difference. A local news story showed parents sleeping outside to wait in line to register to be the recipients of these toys.
For the cost of 1 pizza or 1 cup of coffee, you truly can not only make someone else feel good, but yourself too!
Check out http://www.toysfortotscentralflorida.org/ for a local spot near you to drop off a toy.
If we had a nickel for everytime we were promised a barbecue...

If we had a nickel for everytime we were promised a barbecue, a dinner or to see the new furniture, well we wouldn't be rich but we would have many nickels! We enter our customers lives through a referral or through our own marketing successes and are there for them when they are going through a transition in their lives. There is not enough room to list all of the scenarios but Divorce, Job Transfer,
Up or Downsizing are just a few. When I was new in the business, I remember hearing agents who said, my customers invited me here or I invited them to this event but the reality is that there are very few agents who end up mixing their Real Estate lives with their home lives. It is not that we don't want to be a part of their lives but the reality is, that we…WE WANT YOU...But not THAT badly

I can't help but notice a large sign in front of a Real Estate company down the road that says, "We are Now Recruiting Real Estate Agents." Each time I pass this sign, I wonder if Realtors want to be recruited? It sounds very militaristic by design. To recruit someone is to target that person for their work ethic, strengths or overall achievements. To be recruited is truly an honor.
With a sign saying that we are now recruiting is paramount to Krispy Kreme having that glowing red light shining in your eyes as you drive by. (Note: I have not seen this personally, only heard about it from others.)
Making a decision to join any company requires research. The old adage that you have to interview them as much as they interview you really applies with Real…So You Want To Manage Your Own Property, Eh?

Many people are looking to save money. Especially with the way things are today, money is tight...for everyone! One way people look to save money with regards to their homes are saving money by finding their own tenant and managing their own property.
We have seen many owners that do this and many never have an issue at all. But there are those cases where owners say, "why didn't I hire a professional?"
Some things to think about. Owners also have to follow all of the Fair Housing Laws when it comes to renting their properties. They cannot discriminate with regards to Race, Color, Religion, National Origin, Disabilities, and Familial Status. Owners also have to follow all of the tenant/landlord laws with regards to holding the escrow desposits.
Many owners…
Do Realtor Bonuses Make a Difference?

Do Realtor Bonuses and Incentives make a difference when it comes to increased traffic and Home Sales? When agents go for listings, they present themselves first and then what their company offers the seller. If they have done a good job with their pre-listing homework, they look at all of the Actives, Pendings and Solds, not only in the neighborhood, but also in the zip code. We know that Active Listings do not help us when it comes to setting prices or even with the Appraisal but it is interesting to see what percentages are being offered to the agent that brings the buyer.
If there are 30 homes for sale in a neighborhood and 20 of them are listed at 3% and 5 are at 2.5% and 5 are at 4%, does this change the agents mind as to what to show their…
Dim Sum Means Happiness on a Plate
Friday, September 25th, 2009 at 9:37am. 96 Views, 0 Comments.
The literal definition of Dim Sum is "A bit of heart". Dim sum is a variety of foods all served in small quantities. The best part is that it is already prepared for you. It rides around on carts just waiting for you to select it and you pay by the plate or dish that you order.
If you have never had it, it is a must try. It is usually served from 11-3 at most places. We have tried many around Orlando and have not found any better than Chan's Chinese Restaurant at 1901 East Colonial Drive.
If you are an adventurous eater, there are many things you can try. From Fried and steamed dumplings to a rice soup with a 100 year old egg. (sounds gross but tastes like it was made yesterday!) There are many different shapes, sizes and flavors to choose from. The best…
Speak Only When Spoken To

I have been frustrated lately. Frustrated by agents that have themselves so guarded that they are not even letting their customers in..easily. Recently, agents have been resorting to sending online notices about their listings. This practice grew very large a few years ago and all but dried up until now. These broadcast flyers tout everything from open houses, broker's opens and features about their houses. When trying to reply to some of these listings, I have seen that some agents do not put their email address on the flyer. Instead they have a "Safe Lead" response that opens up a dialog box asking to be filled out with all of one’s vital information. This is a lead capture system. There has been a great deal written on making websites too complex for…
It's Free...Use it!

I was sent a link to Postlets.com. It is the greatest invention since the electric toaster! This website, first of all, is free. Who doesn't like free? This site allows you to create a listing presentation and after all of the fields are filled in, gives you the HTML code that can be used to post to websites such as Craig's List and Zolve.com.
It puts your listings in a great format that looks like you spent hours on it.
Take the time to check it out. You won't be sorry! What's In a Name? You are Hopefully.

If your last name is, "Sail", it wouldn't be too difficult to come up with something catchy for marketing yourself. Hirschhorn creates a little bit tougher scenario! As a new agent, all you have to do is browse through the hundreds of Realtor ads to get some ideas. Coming up with a play on your name or catchy slogan will help to set you apart from the thousands of other agents in your market place.
I am sure that there are agents who look online to see what agents are using in other markets as well. If there is an agent in California using, "Your Waterfront Connection", if you were in Florida, odds are that you could also use this without any problems. I am not aware of many agents who trademark their slogans. (Not a bad idea though).
